A superb and large-scale figurative painting by Dorothea Sharp, depicting two young girls standing in a sunlit garden setting, surrounded by flowering plants and soft summer foliage. The composition is painted with lively, impressionistic brushwork and a delicate palette, capturing a moment of quiet intimacy and childhood innocence. Light and colour are handled with great sensitivity, creating a gentle and highly decorative scene characteristic of Sharp’s finest work.
Oil on canvas, signed lower left, and presented in a fine gilt frame. The painting is in very good condition and represents an outstanding example of Dorothea Sharp’s mature style.
